About the Activity
Coffee Capers: An In-House Mystery Challenge
Coffee Capers is a fully facilitated, escape room style team experiencedelivered directly in your workplace or chosen venue.
Participants are welcomed into the experience with a fictional workplace scenario that quickly takes an unexpected turn when a mystery unfolds. Teams are formed and assigned different aspects of the case, with each group responsible for uncovering critical clues, solving puzzles, and analysing information linked to their part of the investigation.
As teams work through their challenges, they must think creatively, communicate clearly, and piece together information. Once all teams have completed their investigations, the group reconvenes to share insights, connect the evidence, and uncover the true culprit together.
The session concludes with a guided reflection that explores how teams approached the problem, how decisions were made under pressure, and what it reveals about collaboration, communication, and problem-solving styles in the workplace.
Coffee Capers is an ideal indoor activity for teams wanting an experience without leaving the office, delivering strong engagement, shared learning, and plenty of “aha” moments.
Note:For groups of 18 - 36 participants, two sessions will be run concurrently.

How does the activity run?
Introduction and Team Warm-Up
The event will begin with your host welcoming you to the event. They will provide an overview of the activity, explain the rules and how the activity will run.
Coffee Capers Launch
The host will set the scene by welcoming you to your new job and introducing you to the company you have just joined. The phone rings and the situation changes. Your host will introduce the task and allocate you to either the Means, Motive or Opportunity Team.
Coffee Capers
Everyone is presented with a starting clue to commence solving the crime and works together to decipher the clues to solve the puzzling mystery.
Wrap Up
The host will facilitate a discussion between the teams that will share their findings and theory behind the mastermind’s plan. A debrief with the group will wrap up the activity with discussions on how each team approached the activity.
