About the Activity

Helping Hands: Corporate Charity Team Building with Global Impact

Helping Hands is a corporate charity team building activity that gives teams the opportunity to assemble a fully functional prosthetic hand, creating real, life-changing impact, while working together in a meaningful experience.

For thousands of people worldwide, the loss of a hand limits everyday independence. Many amputations occur due to conflict, unexploded landmines, workplace accidents, and everyday incidents, particularly in developing. Helping Hands allows your team to be part of the solution.

In this team building experience, participants work in teams of three to five to assemble a prosthetic hand to be donated. Helping Hands includes facilitation, all materials, clear instructions, quality checks, and coordination with global partners for distribution.

Once assembled, teams personalise their hand kits by writing an encouraging message and decorating the packaging for the recipient. This personal connection reinforces the human impact behind the build and turns teamwork into something far more meaningful than a typical activity.

Completed prosthetic hands are collected and distributed at no cost to recipients living in Africa, Asia, Central America and South America, helping individuals regain independence and improve daily quality of life.

Helping Hands is ideal for organisations seeking purpose-driven team building, aligning strongly with DEI, ESG and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) strategies. Participants leave with a strong sense of accomplishment, shared pride, and the knowledge that they have made a genuine difference.

How does the activity run?
Introduction and Team Warm-Up

The event will begin with your host welcoming you to the event. They will provide an overview of the activity and go over the how the activity will run.

Helping Hands Opening

Helping Hands commences with an informative presentation on the prevalence and impact of living without a hand around the world. We share the difference your donation can make in the lives of another person.

Helping Hands Build

Each team will be provided with a disassembled Hand, instructions and the tools required to build a real working Prosthetic Hand that will be donated to someone for free. Once the Hands are built and tested, each team will write a message to the recipient.

Wrap Up

Each team has their photo taken with their completed Hand – this then accompanies that Hand to the recipient.
