About the Activity

Packs for Good: Team Building with Impact

Packs for Good brings teams together to do something useful, practical and meaningful. Participants work in small groups to assemble care packs made up of everyday essentials for people in the community who need extra support.

The activity creates a sense of purpose while encouraging teamwork, problem solving and shared responsibility. Teams leave with a tangible outcome they can feel good about, knowing their time and effort has directly contributed to something beyond the workplace.

Participants are divided into teams of 3–5 people. Each team works through a range of challenges to earn items, which are then packed into care packs for donation.

Items may include:

  • Non-perishable food

  • Toiletries and personal care items

  • Essential clothing

  • Sanitary products

  • Small comfort or recreational items

At the conclusion of the activity, teams assemble their packs, knowing who the Packs will support and why their contribution matters.

We can tailor each Packs for Good session around a theme that aligns with your organisation or recipient group. Popular options include:

  • Food Hampers

  • Freshen-Up Care Packs

  • Holiday Packs

  • Adult or Children Packs

  • Custom themes based on your choice

We work closely with you to confirm the recipient group and ensure packs include the most useful and appropriate items.

This activity balances connection, contribution and fun, making it ideal for organisations looking for team building with heart.

Packs for Good is especially popular for teams wanting a feel-good experience that also delivers tangible outcomes.

Outcomes

  • Teamwork: work together to complete challenges and pack a presentable donation.

  • Problem-solving: use lateral, creative, and strategic thinking to complete the challenges.

How does the activity run?
Introduction and Team Warm-Up

The event will begin with your host welcoming you to the event. They will provide an overview of the activity and go over the how the activity will run.

Packs for Good Welcome

The activity commences with the group being divided into smaller teams followed by an introduction to the recipient organisation and benefits the Packs will have.

Packs for Good Commences

Teams will compete in a variety of tasks and challenges to earn the items that are going to be donated. Some of the activities are head-to-head like a relay race and others are team challenges. The final activity is to wrap the items in a box presented with cellophane, ribbon and a message to the recipient.

Wrap Up

The session ends with a debrief on the activity by the host and confirmation of the recipient charity. The event wraps up with a team photo and congratulations to everyone.

Note: if available, we can arrange for the recipient charity to do a short presentation to your group.
