About the Activity
Pedal Power – Bike Building Team Charity Event
Remember how good getting your first bike felt? The freedom, the excitement, and the biggest smile ever. This feel-good team activity gives your group the chance to pass that feeling on, while having a great time together.
Teams of three to five work through a series of fun, hands-on challenges to unlock everything they need to build a children’s bike. From tools and instructions to helmets and accessories, each mini challenge brings teams closer to the finished product.
Along the way there’s plenty of laughter, teamwork, problem-solving and friendly banter. It’s relaxed, inclusive, and designed so everyone can get involved, with no special skills required.
Once the bikes are built (and given a creative touch), they’re donated to children aged 4–9 years through local charities or schools.
We take care of everything: high-quality bikes, approved helmets, tools, facilitators, support staff and a mechanic to make sure every bike is safe and ready to ride. We also organise delivery within 70km of the Perth CBD, so it’s completely stress-free for your team.
Bikes will be donated to a range of local charities or schools that may include Variety WA, RUAH, Fostering Hope or your organisational charity partner.
Outcomes
Teamwork: work together to earn parts and build a bicycle
Communication: strengthen their communication skills as they complete challenges and complete the build
Collaboration: collaborate with other teams to share tools
Pride: gain a sense of accomplishment and pride in giving a new bike to a child
Leadership: enhance their leadership skills
Community Give Back: donating a bike to child who unable to afford a new bike

How does the activity run?
Introduction and Team Warm Up
The event will begin with your host welcoming you to the event. They will provide an overview of the activity and go over the how the activity will run.
Pedal Power Opening
The activity commences with the group being divided into smaller teams. The host will run several warm-up activities around the bicycle theme, tapping into the participants memories of their own bikes.
Bicycle Build
Each team will be provided with a bicycle in a box to build into a functional bicycle. Before they can open the box, they need to complete a variety of challenges to earn bicycle parts, tools and decorations. Then they can open the box and begin their building.
Wrap Up
Once the Bikes are built and tested, each team will write a message to the recipient. The session wraps up with a presentation of each bike and a debrief on the activity by the host. The final step is a team photo and congratulations to everyone.
