About the Course

The Urban Challenge is designed around its location, whether that is Fremantle, Perth, Geraldton, Joondalup or another great part of WA.  This activity has it all. We start by having your group break into smaller teams that will complete a range of challenges to see who the overall winner is.

Teams are provided with a clue sheet to plan out the which clues and challenges they are going to attempt. Clues range from puzzles, finding unique street art, team challenges, taking selfies, answering questions, and challenges against other teams. We can even include questions specific to your organisation.

The Urban Challenge is designed to showcase your amazing city while at the same time enhancing your planning, negotiation, communication and teamwork skills.

With lots of clues for you to choose from, it is up to your team to decide on which ones you will attempt to earn the most points in the time available.

Outcomes

Outcomes of the Urban Challenge:

- Team work – teams must work together to complete the challenges and plan their route

- Communication and Negotiation – sharing your knowledge and being heard.

- Leadership – taking a role in leading the group

Introduction and Team Warm-Up

The event will begin with your host welcoming you to the event. They will provide an overview of the activity and go over the how the activity will run.

Urban Challenge Launch

Following a couple warm-up activities your host will get you into smaller teams of 4-6. You will be given bandanas to identify your team and your Urban Challenge clue sheet.

Urban Challenge

Teams will start the Urban Challenge. Using the clue sheet, each team will determine which clues and challenges they complete to earn the most points.  There will be questions about the area for them to answer, photos for the team to take and a selection of team challenges hosted by TeamLinq. All of them are worth different points adding to the challenge. Everyone will need to stay together as a team and be at the finish point by the time provided.

Wrap Up

Teams will arrive back at the finish location by the time provided and hand in their Clue Sheets for scoring. The host will facilitate a debrief with the group identifying what they learned about each other, and what they learned about the area. By this time the scoring is completed, and we are ready to announce with winning team.  The event wraps up with a team photo and congratulations to everyone.
